Are you still holding on to the past?

There is a person I know, who will confess that they keep record of a certain persons wrongs that they have done to them. When I presented the scripture in Corin 1:13 of God's kind of love keeps NO record of wrongs, the individual holds them because the person has not asked for forgiveness for those sins or wrongs done. We have to not allow the enemy to steal, kill, or destroy our lives because of someone else's wrong doing. If we continue to remain bitter and resentful towards the people that hurt us then we are only holding our own blessings and prosperity back, while the other person who hurt us is gone on about their life!

We have to really choose our battles and learn to just "let it go". I read this signage off the highway that read "your trials in life can make you bitter or better, which one are you?" The way people treat us or have treated us is no reason to remain bitter. I speak to those out there who are harboring bitterness in their hearts and say Bitterness Be Gone in Jesus Name. A bitter root produces bitter fruit, and no one wants to come upon a tree and find out that the fruit on the tree is not worth eating!

Let us keep our hearts with ALL diligence, for out of it flows the issues of life (Proverbs 4:23).

Another scripture for cleansing... Forgive us ours, just as we have forgiven those who have sinned against us..Matthew 6:12.

God WANTS to be good to you

July 27, 2009

Did you know that God, El-El yon, "the most high God" longs to show His goodness to you? Yes you. Sometimes our own thinking and what we are expecting draws in the things that we are seeing in our lives, whether positive or negative. If you expect people to reject you or hurt you then that is what you will attract. If you expect preferential treatment and God's favor in your life, then guess what, that is what you will attract to you. If we really want to see change in our lives, we must change what we are attracting to ourselves.

When we practice being positive in every situation that arises in our lives, even if what is going on in our lives isn't so positive. You must understand that before your life can change, your attitude must change. We have to keep hope alive, because without hope we can become depressed, discouraged, despondent, and allow the enemy to hold us back by fear. But Psalms 42:5 encourages us to "hope in God and to wait EXPECTANTLY for Him". Hope can only be activated through our positive attitudes.

Your situation may be of great hopelessness, but if you change your expectation and your negative attitudes or view of it into a positive one, it will be well worth it. God truly longs to be good to you!

Are you a people pleaser?

July 21, 2009

In today's society we have in epidemic of people trying to please everyone. I have found that you cannot please everyone, and when you find yourself trying to keep people happy all the time, you will eventually end up not fulfilling your divine destiny. There is a funny story about a woman who kept TWO bottled water coolers in her home, not because she was extra thirsty or for health reasons, but because she COULDN'T say no to either water company when they called. It sounds silly, but many of us today just cannot say NO when we really need to say NO.

No matter how much you please people, some just will not be happy about your successes, not even well-meaning people. God looks for those whose hearts are perfect towards HIM, not people. He searches the hearts of those whose hearts are for obeying Him and not set on or controlled by what others may or may not think. There is a book I once read by renowned author and minister Joyce Meyer, called Approval Addiction and it's a must read!

Step out and be different, the original that God made YOU to be. Be a Designer's Original, not some cheap copy! Step out of the box!

Your thoughts determine you destiny

July 17, 2009

Did you know that what you think determines what direction your life will go in? The bible has a very familiar passage of scripture pertaining to this; Proverbs 23:7, states that "As a man or woman thinks in his or her heart, so is he/she. We need to be mindful of what we allow to meditate on throughout our daily lives. We need to really realize that our thoughts are in direct response to what we allow to come out of our mouths, because what you are thinking, you usually will end up saying...am I right about it?

I want to reiterate that we are what we think and to allow thoughts of joy, peace, love and kindness to begin to take control of our thoughts and words, instead of thoughts of depression, fear, failure or "I can't" thoughts. There is an old adage that goes a little something like this...you can't stop the birds from flying over your head, but you sure can stop them from building a nest in your hair!
